A First Look at the 2025 Ford Ranger

Powertrain

While the base XL model is powered by a 270-hp 2.3L turbo inline-4 engine, the Ranger is available with a twin-turbocharged 2.7L V6 that generates 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a smooth and quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission and enable 0-to-60 times of well under seven seconds. An available electronic-locking rear differential improves traction, resulting in better cornering ability.

Rangers with the Trailer Tow Package, which includes a 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness, are able to tow an impressive 7,500 pounds. The truck can also carry more than 1,800 pounds within its bed.
